Man Arrested After Traffic Stop

FREDERICK, Md. (DG)-A Frederick man was locked up late Monday night after a traffic stop.

A Frederick City Police Officer stopped a car driven by Michael Johnson in the area of West All Saints Street and North Bentz Street for not having a front license plate.

The officer immediately recognized Johnson from past interactions and called for a K-9 unit to respond.

The vehicle was searched and crack cocaine was found. Police also learned Johnson did not have a valid driver’s license and the license plate on his vehicle belonged to another car.

Johnson was taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention and charged with possession of crack cocaine, driving without a driver’s license, and displaying a registration plate issued to another vehicle.
