Sykesville, Md (KM) A home invasion robbery involving a man with a gun is under investigation in Carroll County.
The Sheriff’s Office says an individual knocked on the door of a home in the 5200 block of Equestrian Drive in Sykesville Wednesday afternoon, where an 86-year-old woman answered. She asked a 60-year-old man who also lived there and was in the basement, to come to the door. The individual at the door put on a mask and produced a handgun. He claimed to have been looking for another person who was not known to the occupants of the house. The suspect demanded money. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and some property.
He’s described as a white male, 6′ tall, 220 pounds. He had on a black or dark colored tee-shirt, possibly wearing work style boots and shoes, and carrying a gray book bag. His mask covered his head and mouth area.
Howard County Police canine units helped deputies search the immediate area for the suspect, but he was not found.
An older, dark colored Ford F150 pickup truck was seen in the area, but it has not been determined if this is the suspect’s vehicle.
