Rt. 77 Bridge Over Monocacy River Has Reopened

It was closed in June for deck work.

Frederick, Md. (KM)  The Maryland State Highway Administration says the Route 77 (Rocky Ridge Road) bridge over the Monocacy River reopened to traffic last Saturday, August 20th. It had been closed since June 21st to replace the bridge deck, which is the driving surface of the span.

Motorists who use the span will notice flagging operations as crews complete the remainder of the work. In addition to replacing the deck, the project also included repairing the concrete supports, cleaning and painting the structural steel, and paving the roadway approaches.

SHA says the entire project is expected to be finished by the end of the year, weather permitting.
