Authorities Searching For Two Escapees From the Catoctin Summit Adolescent Center

They also stole a vehicle after they fled.


Sabillasville, Md. (KM)  State Police are searching for two individuals who fled the Catoctin Summit Adolescent Center in Sabillasville Thursday morning, and then stole a motor vehicle.

Troopers, who responded to the facility at 5980 Cullen Drive around 6:48 AM,  say Christopher Chambers and Ethan Kidwell, both 18, climbed out of the window of their dorm rooms, and walked away until they came to the GT Handymart located on Military Road in Cascade in Washington County. Surveillance video shows the two getting inside of a white Chevrolet truck parked in the lot, and driving away, according to Maryland State Police.

Chambers is a white male, 5’11” to 6′ tall, and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and jogging pants. Kidwell is a white male who was last seen wearing a light blue hoodie, Pokemon emblem galaxy t-shirt, jeans and dark shoes.
State Police say at this time, it doesn’t appear that either of these young men are armed, or are a danger to the public.

Anyone who has seen them or has information on their whereabouts is asked to call the Maryland State Police. They can contact the Frederick Barrack, which investigating the escape, at 301-600-4150. They can also call the Hagerstown Barrack, which is handling the motor vehicle theft, at 301-766-3810.

The Catoctin Summit Adolescent Center provides treatment for teenagers with substance abuse problems.
