Germantown Track Coach Arrested For Child Sex Abuse

GERMANTOWN, Md. (AP) — A girls’ track coach has been accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl he met through social media.

In a charging document, police say 42-year-old Onaje Robinson struck the girl with a wooden stick at his Germantown apartment during an Aug. 20 encounter that the girl described as nonconsensual.

Robinson turned himself in Tuesday and has been charged with two counts of a third-degree sexual offense and one count of second-degree assault.

Robinson spent the last three years on a coaching contract for the girls’ track team at Seneca Valley High School in Germantown. School officials say he had not signed a new contract for this school year, but track season has not yet started.

Robinson says the sex was consensual and the girl told him she was 20.
