Unattended Death At American Spine Center In Frederick Under Investigation

Police say no foul play suspected so far.


Frederick, Md (KM) Frederick Police are investigating an unattended death.

Officers and fire and rescue personnel responded to the American Spine Center at 1050 Key Parkway shortly before 7:30 Friday morning for a man who was unresponsive. CPR was underway, but it was not successful, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say the victim is an employee of American Spine Center, but his name is not being released due to the circumstances and the wishes of his family.

Police say evidence so far indicates no foul play involved.

Investigators say they reviewing security footage and other access logs, and personal electronics owned by the deceased to confirm that there’s no foul play.

The American Spine Center was in the news recently when five medical professionals were indicted by a federal grand jury for a kickback scheme totaling $1.37-million which was linked to the pain management practice.
