Two Brothers Indicted For Stabbing

One is a juvenile being charged as an adult.

Frederick, Md (KM)  Two brothers from Frederick were indicted on Friday for a stabbing in Walkersville a few months ago. Juwan Matthew Favors,18, and Jamal Dontae Favors,17, were charged by the Frederick County Grand Jury with 1st-degree assault, 2nd-degree assault, conspiracy to commit 1st-degree assault and reckless endangerment.

State’s Attorney Charlie Smith says two were arrested for a stabbing on July 11th in the area of Victory Court and Discovery Boulevard. “They were two groups of people that were in a common area over there. A fight broke out, and a 23-year-old man was stabbed several times in the mid- to  lower back,” he says.

The victim had to flown to University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore for treatment of his injuries.

Smith says Jamal Favors is a juvenile being charged as an adult. But Smith says anyone 16-year-old and older whose charged with first-degree assault is automatically charged as an adult under Maryland law. “Now, he can fight to have those cases waived back into the juvenile system. But he’s starts out as an adult and we’re going to keep in that way because it’s a very serious offense,” he says.

Three others were also ndicted on Friday:

* Jerome Tyrell Schools Parker, 29, of Frederick, Md. He’s charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, distribution of cocaine and possession of cocaine for an offense which occurred on July 13th, 2016.

* Simon Maxwell Eason, 23, of Frederick, Md. He’s charged with possession with intent to distribute and possession of alprazolam, as well as  possession of LSD for an offense which occurred on May 11th, 2016.

* Devonte Jamar Cills, 21, of Frederick, Md. He’s charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia (a scale).

Each of these cases will move to the Circuit Court where a trial date will be set.
