Police arrest stabbing suspect
FREDERICK, Md. (DG) – Frederick Police arrested a suspect wanted for stabbing a man on the west end of the city last Friday.
At around 10 PM Friday, officers responded to the a report of a stabbing in the area of the 1400 Block of Key Pkwy. Arriving officers found a victim suffering from several wounds to his upper body.
The victim was transported to Meritus Medical Center for treatment.
During their investigation police were able to identify a suspect. Early this morning (Thursday) officers obtained a search and seizure warrant on an apartment at 1465 Key Parkway. They located evidence related to the stabbing and arrested Rudy Santana Lopez Gamez.
Gamez has been charged with attempted 2nd degree murder, 1st degree assault, 2nd degree assault, and reckless endangerment.
