Three Apprehended For A Series Of Burglaries In Frederick County

Two were located in Mississippi.

Frederick, Md (KM)  The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says it’s continuing to investigate a series of burglaries.

On August 25th, at around 1:45 AM, deputies were dispatched to Tractor Supply in Jefferson where they found two trucks reported stolen from Wolfe Auction on Hansonville Road and Touch of Class on Buckeystown Pike. The truck beds contained stolen items from Tractor Supply, and two ATV’s stolen from a home in Jefferson. Inside the vehicles, deputies say they found alcohol and tobacco products that were presumed to be stolen from the A1 Mart on Himes Avenue in Frederick the same night.

Investigators obtained surveillance video from Tractor Supply which identified three suspects. They are Joseph Watts, 26, Jerry Watts III, 19, and Joshua Carpenter.  All are from Frederick.

The Sheriff’s Office says Jerry Watts was arrested on August 29th. He admitted to his involvement and was charged with 4th-degree burglary (one count for a theft from Touch of Class), 4th-degree burglary (one count for a theft from Tractor Supply) and theft over $100 but under $1,000.

On August 30th, Joseph Watts and Joshua Carpenter were located in Jasper County, Mississippi, operating a box truck reported stolen out of Howard County, according to authorities.

Joseph Watts was extradited to Frederick on September 20th on a violation of probation warrant. He was  charged on October 11th with two counts of 2nd-degree burglary (general), motor vehicle theft and 4th-degree burglary (store), theft less than $1,000, malicious destruction of property valued at $1,000, theft between $1,000 but under $10,000 and being a rogue and a vagabond.

Carpenter was extradited to Howard County on a warrant for the unlawful taking of a motor vehicle.
