Fire Heavily Damages Home In Kingsbrook Subdivision

One person was taken to the hospital for an evaluation.

Frederick, Md (KM)  Fire heavily damaged a house in Frederick Monday afternoon.

Chip Jewell with County Fire and Rescue, says fire fighters were dispatched to 9038 Allington Manor Circle West in the Kingsbrook subdivision. shortly before 5:00 PM. “The units arrived on the scene. They had heavy fire conditions; did request a Rapid Intervention Dispatch for additional apparatus. We do have substantial damage to the house. It was declared under control within 30-minutes.”

“We did one civilian injury; has been transported to Meritus Medical Center in Washington County for an evaluation. Not a life-threatening injury,” says Jewell.

He says fire fighters battled the blaze from the outside of the house. “There is extensive damage to the house. We had fire coming through the roof, and also in the interior of the structure. The units predominantly had to fight the fire from the exterior due to the extensive fire conditions within the dwelling,” says Jewell.

The roof of the two-story house is mostly gone, and there was smoke still in the air near the house even after fire fighters put out the flames.

The cause remains under investigation.

Fire fighters stayed at the scene until just after 9:00 PM for overhaul.
