He’s being held on $2.5-million bond.
GERMANTOWN, Md. (AP) – Montgomery County Police have charged a man in the death of his 5-month-old son in June.
The department said in a news release that 22-year-old Austin Ahimbisibwe was arrested Friday and charged with second-degree murder and child abuse resulting in death.
Detectives say on June 23, Ahimbisibwe called 911 and said his son, Hudson, was not breathing. Paramedics took the infant to a hospital in Washington, where he died.
Authorities say the District’s medical examiner ruled Hudson’s death a homicide caused by head, neck, and upper body trauma.
Police say Ahimbisibwe told detectives that when the infant would not stop crying, he covered Hudson’s mouth with his hand, and shook him.
Amimbisibwe is being held on $2.5 million bond. Online court records do not list a lawyer for him.
