Westminster Home Damaged By Fire

The cause remains under investigation.


Westminster, Md (KM)  45 fire fighters battled a house fire in Westminster Monday afternoon.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says the fire broke out at a two-story, single family home at 1430 Old Westminster Road. It took 20-minutes for fire fighters  to bring the flames under control. No one was hurt.

Damage is estimated at $30,000 to the structure and $5,000 to the contents.

Officials say the cause remains under investigation, but they do say the fire originated behind the home.

The displaced family is being assisted by the Red Cross.

The fire was discovered by a passerby.
