Rain is in the forecast for Thurs., the night of the party.
Frederick, Md (KM) The Frederick City Parks and Recreation Department has canceled the Eighth Annual Halloween in Baker Park event due to rain in the forecast for Thursday.
Due to the size of the event, and the hundreds of volunteers and staff who assemble and prepare the activities throughout the day, officials decided to cancel the party. “We feel it’s in the best interests of all those involved to make this decision today {Wed},” says Bob Smith, Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation, in a statement.
The National Weather Service is forecasting numerous showers on Thursday evening.
Smith say full refunds will be issued to all of those who registered for the big celebration for Thursday evening. Parks and Recreation says those individuals will be contacted about refunds.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience,” says Smith. “We hope to see you next year for the 9th Annual Halloween in Baker Park.”
