Frederick, Md (KM) State Police in Frederick are continuing their investigation into a serious motor vehicle crash early Saturday morning.
Troopers say a Ford Focus operated by Zachery Wayne Divelbiss, 22, was traveling west on Route 340 near the Route 15 split when the car went off the roadway and struck a tree.
Divelbiss, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore.
Westbound Route 340 was closed for an on-scene investigation and the removal of the car.
State Police say charges are pending.
