Police Charge Two Juveniles, One Adult With Firearms Offenses

They were arrested Friday in Hagerstown.


Hagerstown, Md (KM)  Two juveniles and an adult have been charged with weapons offenses. Hagerstown Police say Robert Larnell Kerr, Jr., and Keon Marquis Powell, both 16 of Hagerstown,  were arrested Saturday afternoon.  Also apprehended was Rasheem L. Wilson, 18, of Hagerstown.
Police say officers with the Directed Patrol Unit observed the three in the area of Lee Street and South Potomac Street in a vehicle with an expired registration. The car was pulled over in an alley off of West Lee Street.

Authorities say the driver, identified as Kerr ran away, but was apprehended along East Franklin Street with assistance from the Maryland State Police.

Officers searched the vehicle and found a loaded handgun in the center console.

Kerr is charged as an adult with illegal possession of ammunition, illegal possession of a registered firearm, possession of a firearm by a minor, having a handgun in a vehicle, driving without a license, driving without current tags and displaying registration plates issued to another. He was also given a civil citation for possession of marijuana,

Powell is also charged as an adult with possession of a firearm by a minor, having a handgun in a vehicle and having a handgun on his person.

Wilson is  charged with possession of a firearm by a minor, and having a handgun in a vehicle and on his person.
