Rev. Scott To Retire Next Year As Director Of The Religious Coalition

He’s been with the agency since 1998.

Frederick, Md (KM)  Reverend Brian Scott will be retiring next year as the Director of the Religious Coalition.

He has been with the non-profit agency since 1998, and has seen its budget grow from $200,000 to $1.5-million, with more than 1,000 volunteers and 23 employees.

The Religious Coalition serves hundreds of clients and guests with emergency shelter, housing and rental assistance, emergency dental service, utility assistance, emergency medical and prescription assistance, and basic food items.

“I feel blessed to have served as the Executive Director of the Religious Coalition and during this time to see it grow from a faith-based social service ministry to a community based social service agency providing essential emergency services to those in need in Frederick County,” said Reverend Scott, in a statement. “We have become the provider not only of shelter for the homeless during the cold weather season but year around; for both families and individuals. Through our work over 1,000 households each year are prevented from becoming homeless. Through our network with area houses of worship and partnerships with other non-profit and government agencies, more residents of Frederick County have become aware of some of our most vulnerable citizens and challenges they face each day and thousands of Frederick Countians have reached out through giving and volunteering to help their neighbor in need.”
