FREDERICK, Md. (KR) Maryland State Troopers will be stepping up their enforcement during Thanksgiving week. Officials say with over 900-thousand people hitting the roads for the holiday they plan to focus on keeping drivers safe in Western Maryland.
Authorities are reminding drivers to watch for the active work zones that will continue through the holidays and to be aware of weather and road conditions before heading out.
Maryland State Police are asking motorist to keep distractions to a minimum while driving on the highway during the busy season.
Fatal accidents have increased across the state and troopers want to see that trend stop.
