THURMONT, MD (DG)-A brushfire in northern Frederick County had rescue personnel very busy Monday morning.
Frederick County Fire and Rescue Services Battalion Chief Kevin Fox said many firefighters were on the scene of a brushfire this morning off of Route 550 by Kelbaugh Road. The fire is between 5 to 10 acres.
Fox said this blaze may have started as a secondary fire from one working near the same area on Sunday.
During yesterday’s fire activity, one firefighter was injured and treated for smoke inhalation.
Frederick County is under a burn ban and also a wind advisory until 5 PM this evening.
