State Police To Hold Sobriety Checkpoint Friday Night

It’s an effort to educate motorists on the dangers of drinking & driving.


Frederick, Md (KM) Troopers at the Frederick State Police Barrack will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint Friday night in the area of eastbound Route 26 at Routzahns Way. Officials say the goal is to educate motorists on the dangers associated with drinking and driving.

The checkpoint will take place from 11:00 PM Friday until 2:00 AM on Saturday.

Troopers say the checkpoint is being conducted under the guidelines for the “Checkpoint Strikeforce” initiative.

State Police remind citizens if they are consuming alcoholic beverages during the holidays, pick a designated driver. They say anyone who gets behind the wheel should to obey all traffic laws to make Maryland’s roads and highways safe for all travelers.
