Facial Reconstruction Sketch Of Skeletal Remains Found In Frederick Co.

The victim is about 16-19 years of age.

THURMONT, Md. (AP) – Maryland Natural Resources Police are releasing a facial reconstruction sketch that they hope will unlock the mystery of skeletal remains found last spring in a western Maryland state park.

The sketch released Monday shows a young black man, 16 to 19 years old. Police say in a statement he was about 5-foot-6 and probably died one to two years before his bones were found May 6 in Cunningham Falls State Park.

Spokeswoman Candy Thomson says the state medical examiner’s office was unable to determine how he died.

The sketch was produced by a forensic artist with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Police say the jawbone was not found, so the artist had to approximate the appearance of the young man’s chin and lower jaw.
