Frederick Md. (KM) Frederick Police have charged a local man with narcotics and firearm offenses. Michael John Cariola, 24, was arrested late Saturday evening, November 26th following a traffic stop in the area of Madison and Center Streets.
The officer who initiated the stop detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search was conducted, and police say they found a book bag containing a handgun, $1600 in cash, and 232.2-grams of pot which was packaged for sale.
Cariola was taken into custody.
He’s charged with drug possession with intent to distribute, three counts of possession of more than ten grams of marijuana, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, possession of a handgun in a vehicle, possession of a firearm during drug trafficking, drug distribution with a firearm and possession of a firearm during a felony.
