Fatal Accident Closes Parts Of I-70

Police say a tractor trailer was involved in an accident with several other vehicles.

FREDERICK, MD. (DG)-A fatal accident shut down a portion of Interstate 70 during Wednesday morning rush hour in Frederick.

Maryland State Police responded to the accident on the ramp from I-70 eastbound to I-270 southbound at 5:35 AM.

Troopers say a tractor trailer was involved in an accident with several other vehicles.

Police report the accident was fatal. Two travel lanes on I-70 eastbound and the ramp to I-270 southbound was closed for about three hours while the accident scene was investigated.

The crash caused significant delays on I-70, Rt. 40, and Alt. Rt. 40.
