Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Arrest

Police found 10 baggies with marijuana.

FREDERICK, MD. (DG)-A traffic stop in Frederick leads to an arrest of a man on drug charges.

Frederick City Police stopped a Dodge Magnum on Wednesday evening around 8:30 PM in the area at Hillcrest Drive near W. Patrick St. Police say the vehicle had partially destroyed validation tabs on the rear license plate.

When an officer made contact with the occupants in the vehicle, a strong odor emerged from inside of the car.

The driver was removed from the vehicle and searched. No drugs were found on him. The passenger, Leon Nowlin III, was removed from the vehicle and searched.

Police found 10 baggies with marijuana inside. Nowlin when was placed under arrest and charged with possession of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute.
