Freezing Rain Advisory For The Region

Areas affected by the Advisory include Frederick, Carroll, western Loudon and Jefferson County, WV.

 

Sterling,Va. (NWS)…Freezing Rain Advisory remains in effect from midnight tonight…
to 7:00 AM EST Monday…

* Hazard types…freezing rain. precipitation may start out as a
brief period of sleet…then quickly change to freezing rain
and continue through early Monday morning.

* Ice accumulations…up to one tenth of an inch.

* Timing…the precipitation will start between midnight and 2:00
AM in the advisory area…then continue as freezing rain
through early Monday morning.

* Impacts…untreated roads and sidewalks will become slick and
hazardous due to ice.

* Winds…south 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

* Temperatures…in the lower 30s.

Precautionary/preparedness actions…

A Freezing Rain Advisory means that periods of freezing rain or
freezing drizzle will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving.
