Teenager Charged As Adult In Hagerstown Shooting

The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

 

Hagerstown, Md (KM) Hagerstown Police have charged a teenager as an adult in connection with a shooting. Damon Lee Thompson, 17, was arrested after officers served a search warrant on a home in the 300 block of Summit Avenue. He’s charged with two counts each of attempted 2nd-degree murder and 1st- and 2nd-degree assault. He also charged with reckless endangerment, firearm use in a violent crime, having a handgun on his person and other related handgun offenses.

Thompson is being held at the Washington County Detention Center.

On Sunday evening at around 7:30, police responded to the 400 block of Summit Avenue for a report of shots fired. When they arrived, they found shell casings and began the searching the area for a suspect.

Meanwhile, the victim walked into Meritus Medical Center with gunshot wounds. He had non-life threatening injuries.
