Colts Punter warms the hearts and the houses in Indy.

Pat McAfee, punter for the Indianapolis Colts has paid the electric bills for 115 families, making this holiday a little merrier for them. And this isn’t the first time he’s made this generous gesture – last year he covered the Indianapolis Power and Light Company bills for 85 lucky residents.

One of the recipients of this year’s big-hearted donation was Caroline Clayton. When her husband’s payment was returned, he was told it was paid by an “anonymous donor,” but Clayton had a pretty good idea it was McAfee because of his history of helping the community.

She probably won’t get to thank McAfee personally, but Clayton wants him to know how much her family appreciates his kindness. And she says she and her husband will try to find ways to pay it forward. “Whether it’s keeping a snow shovel in the back of the pickup, or and extra $20 in your wallet for somebody who needs it,” she says. “When you see people who owe so much money that it becomes a source of stress, we realize how fortunate we are.”
