Park & Ride Lot In Wash. Co. To Close Temporarily

The closures will begin next week.

Hagerstown, Md (KM) The State Highway Administration says the park and ride lot at Sharpsburg Pike (Rt. 65) near the I-70 Interchange will be temporarily closed beginning on Tuesday, January 31st. Motorists are urged to remove their cars from the lot by 9:00 the night before.

SHA says new drainage pipes will be installed associated with nearby intersection improvements for the newly constructed Wal Mart on Col. Henry K. Douglas Drive. The park and ride lot  is expected to reopen to commuters by mid-spring, 2017, weather permitting, SHA officials say.

In the meantime, motorists can use the park and ride at the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration at 18306 Col. Henry K. Douglass Drive.

Signs will be placed at the park and ride on Sharpsburg Pike to notify drivers that the lot is closed. Failure to move any vehicles from the lot could result in them being towed away at the owner’s expense.
