Frederick Police Charge Two Men With Marijuana Possession

Officers found a suitcase with pot in a vehicle’s back seat.

 

Frederick, Md (KM) Two men are charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and other offenses following a traffic stop in Frederick early Saturday morning.

Police pulled over a vehicle in the 200 block of West South Street just after midnight. An officer speaking with the driver detected an odor of marijuana coming from the car. The operator said he had a small amount of pot on his person and was placed under arrest.

A search of the vehicle was conducted, and a suitcase containing three pounds of marijuana was located on the back seat.

The driver, identified as Gregg Alan Hamms, 27, of Hagerstown was arrested. A passenger in the car, identified as Brandon Christopher Martin, 26, of Frederick was also taken into custody.

Both men are charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school zone, conspiracy to possess marijuana with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school zone and possession of less than 10 grams of marijuana.

The two were taken to the Adult Detention Center for processing.
