Police Arrest Man For Armed Robbery Of 7-11

He was apprehended a short time after the incident.

 

Hagerstown, Md (KM) A Hagerstown man has been charged in connection with the armed robbery of the 7-11 at 802 Salem Avenue early Friday morning. Police took Jeffery Laurelle Francis, 24, into custody following the holdup. He’s charged with armed robbery, robbery, 1st- and 2nd-degree assault, reckless endangerment, a weapons offense and theft.

Authorities responding to the scene say they were told an African-American man wearing a hoodie and a mask entered the store shortly before 3:00 AM. He was armed with a machete and demanded some items from the clerk.

The suspect fled on foot.

Officers located Francis in the 300 block of Mitchell Avenue following.

Francis was taken to the Washington County Adult Detention Center where he’s being held without bond.
