Three Recent House Fires Determined To Be Arsons

Reward offered for information on one of these fires.

Frederick, Md (KM) The Frederick County Fire Investigation Task Force says the cause of fires at three homes under construction between February 4th and 5th is arson.

Authorities say fire fighters were dispatched to a home on Leben Drive in the Jefferson Technology Park on Sunday, Feb. 5th,  at 2:05 AM for a fire inside a town home under construction. They found a small fire involving miscellaneous construction materials. The flames were put out quickly. The house sustained minimal damage.

Fire investigators responded  on Monday morning, Feb. 6th,  at the Manors at Ballenger Creek after construction workers found the burnt remains of a fire at nearly completed town house on Cambria Road. The fire self-extinguished, but left behind significant heat and smoke damage in the home.

On Tuesday, Feb. 7th,  fire investigators went to a single family home under construction on Lakin Drive in the Tuscarora Creek Subdivision, where a fire, which was discovered on Monday by construction workers, also self-extinguished. The home suffered minimal fire damage, but sustained smoke damage.

The Frederick County Fire Investigation Task Force believes all three of these fires are related. They urge citizens who live in developments under construction to report any suspicious activities, and builders to report any criminal activities, no matter how small.

Greentree Homes is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the persons involved in the fire on Lakin Drive in Frederick.
