FREDERICK,Md. (KR) Today is the first day that parents can register their kids for kindergarten and pre-kindergarten in Frederick County.
FCPS says children that are five years-old on or before September 1st, 2017 can enter kindergarten this fall. Michael Dorrer, spokesperson for Frederick County Public Schools says, registration is a very easy process.
“Really the best place for people to go for information about registration is the FCPS website. Thats FCPS.org and we have a link right on the website that gives everything that people need. All the forms and all the pieces of information that they’ll need to bring to the school,” said Dorrer.
He said for pre-k, children can register to start in the fall if they are four years-old by September 1st, 2017.
“Pre-k is really targeting kids who need that little bit of an extra boost that pre-k provides to get them ready for kindergarten. So, we do have some additional information that we get from parents looking to enroll their kids in pre-k,” said Dorrer.
Dorrer said registration is open on school days between 9 AM and 3:30 PM.
