Carroll County Company Plans Expansion

EVAPCO says it will create 125 new jobs.

 

Taneytown, Md (KM) A manufacturing company in Taneytown is growing. EVAPCO, Inc. says it’s adding 125 new jobs over the next five years at its Carroll County location, and spending $15-million dollars to expand its operations, with the construction of a new, 160,000-square-foot building next to its current facility.

“EVAPCO is delighted to support the Maryland economy and provide additional employment opportunities in Carroll County as our company continues to grow and prosper,” said William G. Bartley, EVAPCO’s President and CEO, in a statement.
In order to assist with project cost, the Maryland Department of Commerce has approved a $625,000 conditional loan through the Maryland Economic Development Assistance Authority and Fund . The Carroll COunty Department of Economic Development is providing a $75,000 training grant, as well as assistance in employment recruitment through the County’s Business and Employment Resource Center.. EVAPCO is also eligible for various tax credits, including Maryland’s Job Creation Tax Credit, according to a news release from the State Department of Commerce.

The company is a manufacturer of evaporative cooling and industrial refrigeration products, which are made in 22 locations in ten countries around the world. It also has a sales network of more than 170 offices.
