Man Hide From Police In Carroll Creek

After a two hour search the man was found in the freezing waters of Carroll Creek.


Frederick, MD.(DG)-A man trying to escape arrest from Frederick Police, hid in Carroll Creek late Tuesday night.

A Frederick City Police officer on patrol noticed an intoxicated female around 9:15 PM in the area Phoebus Avenue and South Bentz Street. The woman was identified as Candice Jones.

Jones had an open warrant for her arrest. While she was being taken into custody, a bystander came up to police and said another man who was with Jones was hiding nearby.

The man hiding was identified as Jayson Mosley. Police were able to determine that Mosley had three open warrants for his arrest. When police went to look for him, Mosley got up from his hiding place and ran to another location.

Officers found him hiding again, and Mosley ran across West Patrick Street towards Carroll Creek Parkway. A short time later, he went into the freezing waters of Carroll Creek.

The Frederick County Department of Fire Rescue and Swift Water Rescue team came to the area, and after a two hour search, located Mosley. He was semi-conscious due to suffering from hypothermia.

Mosley was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for treatment.

Jones has been charged with failure to appear and 1st and 2nd degree assault.

Mosley was charged with failure to appear and two misdemeanor warrants.
