One Man Shot During Road Rage Incident Tues. In Frederick County

The shooter was taken into custody.

 


Jefferson, Md (KM) Charges are pending in connection with a road rage incident in Jefferson Tuesday afternoon which led to gunfire.

State Police say a 26-year-old man from Martinsburg, West Virginia and a 52-year-old man from Sharpsburg became involved in an altercation while traveling west on Route 340 near the Route 15 split.

They got out of their vehicles west of Route 180. The argument got physical and the 26-year-old man produced a handgun and shot the 52-year-old in the leg and the foot.

The victim was flown to University of Maryland’s Shock Trauma in Baltimore by State Police helicopter. The 26-year-old was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital by ambulance for his injuries.

Traffic on westbound Route 340 was diverted to Route 180 for 90-minutes while investigators processed the scene.

Troopers say the investigation into this incident  is continuing, and anyone who has information is asked to call the State Police in Frederick at 301-600-4150.

State Police say they were assisted at the scene by the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office and the Maryland State Highway Administration.
