The victim suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns.
SKYESVILLE, Md. (DG)-Two people were injured in a house fire Monday afternoon in Carroll County.
Firefighters responded to 5508 Strawbridge Terrace in Sykesville shortly after 2 PM for a single family home on fire.
Officials say Denise Harvey received 2nd and 3rd burns to her back and hands as a result of the fire. She was flown to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.
Robert Hess was also injured in the fire, and taken to the hospital where he was later released.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office reports the fire started in the kitchen. It took 40 firefighters, 20 minutes to bring the flames under control. Damage is estimated at $150,000.
