There will be road closures and detours.
Frederick, Md (KM) Construction on the northern section of Boyers Mill Road is expected to start on or about Monday, April third.
The Frederick County Office of Transportation Engineering says the project will cover the road from Gas House Pike to just north of the Boyers Mill Road Bridge replacement project. It will include the addition of paved shoulders for vehicle recovery, law enforcement pull off areas, stormwater management improvements and a roundabout at the Boyers Mill Road and Eaglehead Drive intersection.
County officials say while construction is underway during the day light hours, at least one travel lane will be open to traffic. The roadway will be reopened to two lanes at the end of the work day. The county has also given the contractor authorization for weekend closures.
When the section of Boyers Mill Road is closed, motorists will be detoured to Gas House Pike, Linganore Road and Old National Pike. Local traffic will have access to the road during those closures.
The project is expected to be finished by the summer of 2018.
Emergency personnel and other local agencies have been notified, and will be informed of any weekend closings.
