Frederick, Md (KM) Frederick Police have charged a local man with one count each of possession of crack cocaine, and possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute. Christopher Nathanial Holmes, 21, was arrested Thursday following a traffic stop.

Officers with the Street Crimes Unit pulled over a vehicle in the 400 block of West Patrick Street after noticing a cracked windshield at the driver’s level . As they approached, police detected an odor of Phencyclidine (PCP) coming from the vehicle. All occupants were removed from the vehicle and placed under arrest..
The vehicle and its occupants were searched. One of the passengers identified as Holmes was found to have suspected crack cocaine in his right sock, and more than $600  in cash. Authorities say both are an indication of the intent to sell crack. Officers say the crack was a baggie in small and large rocks.

Holmes was taken into custody.

Police  say the crack was not for Holmes’ personal consumption, but only for selling to others.

The driver and another passenger were released due to drugs not found on their persons or in the vehicle.
