PIKESVILLE, Md. (KR) Marylanders looking to safely get rid of unwanted prescription drugs can bring them to any state police barrack on National Drug Take Back Day.
On April 29th, between 10 AM and 2 PM, Maryland State Police, along with the Drug Enforcement Administration, will be collecting unused drugs and disposing of them. There will also be an opportunity for people to get information about the potential abuse of medications.
During the last initiative in October, troopers collected over 2-thousand pounds of prescription drugs. According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, the majority of teenagers abusing prescription drugs are finding an unlimited supply in their families medicine cabinet.
