The head-on accident killed a woman from New Windsor and a man from Frederick.
NEW WINDSOR, Md. (DG)- A multi-vehicle accident claimed the life of two people in Carroll County on Saturday, including a Frederick resident.
Deputies with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1400 block of New Windsor Rd at around 4:20 PM.
Police found a Ford Focus operated by Joshua Hipps, 32, of Frederick, resting on the eastbound grassy shoulder facing west with heavy front end damage. A Toyota Tundra, driven by Brenda Barber, 57, of New Windsor, facing south with heavy front end damage was in the westbound grassy shoulder.
Investigators say the Ford was traveling eastbound on New Windsor Rd and crossed the double yellow lane at a high rate of speed, striking the westbound Toyota head-on.
HIpps was pronounced dead at the scene.
Barber was transported to Carroll Hospital Center where she was pronounced dead.
