Barn Fire in Hagerstown Under Investigation

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (KR)  The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a barn fire that happened on Sunday around 9:40 PM in Washington County.

Authorities say, they responded to the 11000 block of Hopewell Road in Hagerstown after someone passing by noticed a wooden pole barn on fire. It took 35 fire-fighters from Halfway Volunteer Fire Department, 10 minutes to put out the flames.

Officials say, the fire began inside the barn behind a parked back-hoe tractor. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No one was injured in the fire.

The estimated damage to the barn is $40-thousand dollars.
