The victim became pregnant.
Thurmont, Md. (KM) A Frederick man has been charged with two counts each of 2nd-degree sex offense and 2nd-degree rape; and the victim is a 13-year-old girl. Thurmont Police have arrested Francis Xavier Geppi, 20.
Authorities say in February of last year, they began an investigation into a report of a sex offense involving a minor. They say the sexual relations took place between December, 2015, and January of 2016, and the girl became pregnant.
The investigating officer learned the name of the suspect, who was 19 at the time of the incident, and collected DNA samples .
DNA samples were also collected from the victim in March, 2016, and the infant in November of that year
Police say the results, received in April, 2017, indicated the Geppi was the father. He was arrested on Monday, April 24th.
He went before a District Court Commissioner where he was released on personal recognizance.
