Man charged in armed robbery.
FREDERICK, Md. (DG) – Frederick Police arrested a man late Tuesday night for an armed robbery.
Police responded to the Hill Street Park shortly after 10 PM for a report of an armed robbery in progress.
Arriving officers were told by the victim that a black male robbed him at gunpoint and was fleeing the park in a Kia. Officers in the area were able to locate the Kia and attempted to stop it.
At that time the suspect, identified as LaSalle Whitfield, fled the vehicle on foot.
Whittfield was eventually located and taken into custody. He has been charged with armed robbery, robbery, first degree assault, reckless endangerment, and use of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime.
