Grand Jury Hands Down 10 Indictments

One is against a Frederick man arrested for several armed robberies.

Frederick, Md (KM) Friday was a busy day for the Frederick County Grand Jury. The panel handed down 10 indictments. One was against Sean Rob Shorb, 37, of Frederick, whose charged with three counts each of armed robbery, robbery, 1st-degree assault, 2nd-degree assault and theft less than $100. He’s also charged with 2nd-degree burglary, malicious destruction of property less than $1,000, malicious destruction of property over $1,000, reckless endangerment and fleeing and eluding police.

State’s Attorney Charlie Smith says these charges were filed against Shorb for a series of armed robberies earlier this year. “They occurred at the Subway over on T.J. Drive. They occurred on the 7-11 on Amber; at a PNC ATM on West 7th Street; and also at a Subway on Thomas Johnson Drive,” he says. The Subway at 177 Thomas Johnson Drive was robbed on March 19th, and was broken into on April 4th.

Authorities apprehended Shorb after obtaining video following the March 19th robbery of the Subway. “Police were able to get some red light camera footage with regard to these incidents,” says Smith. “The vehicle was seen in that video both prior to and after that incidents. So they created a lookout and were able to stop that vehicle after it fled from the officers.”

The Grand Jury also handed down indictments against Jesse John Luciano Sedillo, 29, of Frederick, and Lindsay Elizabeth Sulima, 28, also of Frederick. Sedillo is charged with 2nd-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit 2nd-degree burglary, theft less than $1,000, conspiracy to commit theft less than $1,000, malicious destruction of property less than $1,000 and conspiracy to commit malicious destruction of property less than $1,000. Sulima is also charged with 2nd-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit 2nd-degree burglary, attempted 2nd-degree burglary, theft less than $1,000, conspiracy to commit theft less than $1,000, malicious destruction of property less than $1,000 and conspiracy to commit theft less than $1,000.

Smith says the two are charged with breaking into  a BP Station located on Yellow Spring Road in Frederick on January 1st. “An employee arrived to find some broken glass on a door to the building. Surveillance video was reviewed and showed them stealing some cigarettes and cash,”: he says.

Two other co-defendants indicted by the Grand Jury are David Christopher Harmon, 27, of Frederick, and Jacob Ryan Oseneek, 18, of Frederick. Both men are charged with 1st-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit 1st-degree burglary, 4th-degree burglary, theft between $10,000 and $100,000 and  two counts of malicious destruction of property over $1,000 “This was a situation where the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched for a burglary. These two young men weren’t so bright. They decided to take the items that they stole and they pawned them. They also used the victim’s credit card that they {deputies} found in a search warrant in Mr. Oseneek’s house,” says Smith.

Epamenondas Efthemeast Efantis, 36, of Ijamsville was indicted for possession of a regulated firearm with a felony drug possession, eight counts of possession of a rifle and a shotgun with a felony conviction and illegal possession of ammunition. The State’s Attorney’s Office says Efantis was convicted in 2016 for illegally manufacturing marijuana. Later that year, prosecutors say Efantis was cited by a Natural Resources Police officer for a hunting violation. When the discussion came to the his guns, DNR notified the Maryland State Police say Efantis was prohibited from possession a gun due to his conviction. “They actually got a search warrant they wound executing at the defendant’s place of business,” says Smith. “They found six additional firearms to those that were found on the defendant. Therefore, he stands indicted on several counts of a felon in possession of a regulated firearm.
