Frederick, Md (KM) It seems some fake news has been making its way around Frederick.
Police report that a story circulating on social media says there’s a rabid fox running around in the Route 40 area of the city which is within Neighborhood Advisory Council 8. The news story says the fox has bitten at least two people.
Police say they’ve not received any reports of fox sightings or bites in Frederick.
If you see an animal you suspect is rabid, contact Animal Control at 301-600-1544. Questions about rabies can be addressed to the Frederick County Health Department Environmental Health office at 301-600-1717..
