Frederick, Md (LR). Fort Detrick is honoring and recognizing the sacrifice of our Fallen Heroes and their families with a visual display from May 25th to June 15th.
The display will commemorate Gold Star Families by featuring over one-hundred U.S. Flags, accompanying name placards with pictures and service information, along Porter Street on the installation.
Their annual Memorial Day Run will kick off the display at 6:30 a.m. on the Blue and Gray Field.
“The intent is to honor and recognize the sacrifice of family members who have lost a loved one in military service through a visual display,” said Fort Detrick U.S. Army Garrison Commander Col. Scott Halter.
