Two Charged With Theft At Pharmacy

They took bottles of a prescription cough syrup..

 

Thurmont,Md (KM) Police in Thurmont have charged two men following a robbery in January. Deon James Nelson Jr., 23, of Germantown, and Jahandar Rahman Darvish, 20, of Rockville were served with criminal summons on Thursday.

Nelson is charged with theft less than $100,  theft scheme less than $1,000, conspiracy to commit theft and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. Darvish is charged with theft less than $100, conspiracy to commit theft and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

Authorities say three males  wearing hoodie sweatshirts with hoods covering their heads entered the Weis Market in Thurmont on January 16th at around 6:20 PM. While two of the individuals stood by, a third person jumped the pharmacy counter, and grabbed several bottles of Promethazine Cough Syrup. All three fled the store.

A detective with the Thurmont Police worked with other agencies who have experienced these types of thefts, and was able to identify Nelson and Darvish as suspects.
