Germantown Man Detained At Dulles On Monday

He’s wanted in Florida for child molestation charges.

 


Sterling, Va. (KM) A Germantown man who was trying to board a flight to Dubai, United Arab Emirates was detained Monday at Washington Dulles International Airport. US Customs and Border Protection Officers say Clement Francis, 37, is wanted in Florida on child molestation charges.

His identity was confirmed while Officers conducted outbound enforcement.

Francis was escorted to the International Arrivals Building where Customs and Border Protection officials learned from the Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office that the warrant against Francis was still active. Authorities in Florida say Francis is charged with lewd and lascivious acts against children.

He was turned over to the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police.

“Customs and Border Protection officers sometimes encounter travelers with outstanding arrest warrants, and we work to return them to the jurisdiction of their criminal charges,” said Wayne Biondi, CBP Port Director for the Area Port of Washington Dulles. “The warrant arrest is another example of CBP’s collaboration with our law enforcement partners to protect victims’ rights, return fugitives  to justice and help keep our communities safe.”
