Man flown to Shock Trauma in serious condition.
FREDERICK, Md. – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after an accident on I-270 on Sunday.
Maryland State Police in Frederick responded to the crash just before 5:30 PM on I-270 South at Route 80. Troopers say a 1998 Harley Davidson motorcycle was speeding in the left lane when the motorcyclist abruptly changed lanes and hit a 2013 BMW 5 series which was in the deceleration lane before the Route 80 ramp.
The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike. The driver of the BMW briefly stopped at the scene before leaving and getting onto Route 80.
Police say the motorcyclist was seriously injured and flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore for treatment.
Southbound I-270 was closed for about 30 minutes. Police say the accident remains under investigation.
