Md. Prison Van Involved In Crash On I-81

One person was flown out.

 

Hagerstown, Md (KM) One person was medivaced Tuesday morning following a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 near Showalter Road north of Hagerstown.

State Police in Washington County say one of the vehicles was a Chevy Van towing a small utility trailer The van, which was carrying an inmate work crew from the Department of Corrections, was parked on the right shoulder.

A Buick Sedan operated by Tori Helene Clifford, 21, of Staunton, Virginia was traveling north along I-81 when it ran into the right shoulder and struck the rear of the utility trailer, injuring a Corrections employee.

The employee was taken to Meritus Medical Center; Clifford was flown to Shock Trauma.
