Police Conduct Alcohol Compliance Checks On 11 Businesses

They find three sold alcoholic beverages to minors in violation of the law.

 

 

Frederick, Md (KM) Alcohol compliance checks were conducted on Tuesday by Frederick Police on 11 businesses to make sure they were in compliance with the law prohibiting the sale of booze to underage purchasers. Authorities used young people who were under 21 to go into these establishments and attempt to buy alcoholic beverages.

Eight businesses passed the compliance tests by refusing to sell alcohol to underage customers. They were commended by the Frederick Police Department for their cooperation. They are:

-Bennigans: 221 Shorebird St.

– Black Hog BBQ: 221 Shorebird St.

-Buffalo Wild Wings: 210 Shorebird St.

-Coal Fire Pizza: 7820 Wormans Mill Rd.

-Clay Oven: 1170 W. Patrick st.

-Mi Casa Restaurant: 50 N. McCain Dr.

– Outback Steakhouse: 1007 W. Patrick St.

– Red Lobster: 1020 W. Patrick St.

Three businesses were not in compliance and sold alcohol to an underage customer. Authorities say they were referred to the Frederick County Liquor Board. They are: \

Fajita Grande: 5 Willowdale Dr.

Madrones: 7810 Wormans Mill Rd.

Glory Days: 1305 W. 7th St.

Police say merchant training is available to businesses to help them comply with the law against selling booze to minors. They can contact the Liquor Board at 301-600-2984. or go on line to www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/Liquor.
